Stock Market Closing On 11 September 2024: After two days of spectacular growth, the Indian stock market’s growth has been halted. In Wednesday’s trading session, the market fell sharply due to investors selling in the afternoon. Sensex fell 700 points from the day’s high and Nifty fell 230 points. This decline in the market has been seen due to selling in energy, oil and gas and banking stocks. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 81,523 points with a decline of 398 points. The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 24,918 points with a decline of 123 points.
Investors lost more than Rs 2.50 lakh crore
Investors have suffered losses in today’s trading session due to profit booking in the market. The market cap of stocks listed on BSE closed at Rs 463.49 lakh crore, which was Rs 460.96 crore in the previous trading session. In today’s trade, the market cap has seen a decline of Rs 2.53 lakh crore.

Out of 30 stocks of Sensex, only 10 stocks closed with gains while 20 closed with losses. Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, only 13 closed with gains while 37 closed with losses. Among the gainers, Asian Paints closed with a gain of 2.18%, Bajaj Finance 1.57%, Sun Pharma 0.88%, HUL 0.58%, HCL Tech 0.39%, Bajaj Finserv 0.37%, ITC 0.19%, Axis Bank 0.08%, Bharti Airtel 0.05%. Among the losers, Tata Motors closed with a loss of 5.77%, NTPC 1.56%, Adani Ports 1.53%, L&T 1.51%, SBI 1.45%, JSW Steel 1.42%.

In today’s trading, there was buying in the shares of FMCG and Consumer Durables sector. Apart from this, the shares of banking, IT, auto, pharma, healthcare, metals, energy, oil and gas, media sector closed with a fall. In today’s trading session, a big decline was also seen in mid-cap and small-cap shares.
