The Buckingham Murders Review: Hansal Mehta is such a name that if he makes something, then expectations arise that it will be something different and good, and if there is a performer like Kareena Kapoor along with it, then it is the icing on the cake. This is what has happened in this film, this film is a good murder mystery which twists your mind and you remain glued to the seat in the cinema hall till the end but there is one problem, if you look at the mobile or get distracted for even a second, you will miss the story.
Story
Jasmeet Bhamra, i.e. Kareena Kapoor, is a British police officer. She has lost her child. She gets transferred to Buckingham, away from her home, where she is assigned the investigation of a 10-year-old child’s murder. She initially refuses to take the case, but then, even after the case is solved, she goes deeper into it. There are revelations one after the other, twists, from drugs to homosexual relationships and tension between two different communities, there is a lot in this story that keeps you interested.
how is the movie
This is a good thriller, shocking things happen one after the other. The film is less than 2 hours long and due to this it does not feel stretched anywhere. The story has been presented in an interesting way, things do not happen as you think and till the end you just keep wondering who the murderer will be. Most of the dialogues in the film are in English and this is a big problem of this film. The audience who comes to watch Hindi films in the theatre may not like it but the film is good.
Acting
Kareena Kapoor has given a wonderful performance. Be it playing a mother who has lost her child, spying, fighting with her senior, doing everything to save the innocent, Kareena is amazing in every shade. She has played this character in a wonderful way. Ranveer Brar’s work is superb, he has done complete justice to the character of a father who has lost his son. Ash Tandon, Kapil Redkar and all the other actors have done a good job.
Direction
Hansal Mehta’s direction is good. He maintains complete control over the film and surprises you once in a while. For this, Aseem Arora’s story also deserves a lot of credit because the real hero is the story.
Overall, if you don’t have any problem with English dialogues then definitely watch this movie.
