The official announcement of this film was made in May 2023 under the tentative title ‘Thalapathy 68’. This is the 25th film of the production house and is made on a budget of Rs 300-400 crore. Earlier there were reports that Thalapathy Vijay is being paid Rs 150 crore for his double role in the film ‘The Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT). However, now producer Archana Kalpathi has revealed the actor’s fee for the film.
In an interview with Galata, filmmaker Archana Kalpathy has revealed that Thalapathy Vijay was paid Rs 200 crore for ‘The Greatest of All Time’. With this, Thalapathy Vijay has become the highest-grossing actor in India than Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan.
Why was Thalapathy Vijay paid 200 crores fee
Producer Archana Kalpathi also explained the production’s decision to pay Thalapathy Vijay such a staggering fee and said that such a high fee has been given considering the box office performance of the actor’s previous films. Thalapathy Vijay’s market value has increased a lot in the last few years. Last year itself, ‘Leo’ became Thalapathy Vijay’s 7th film to collect more than Rs 200 crore at the box office. His 7 consecutive films have been blockbusters, and reportedly his films have earned more than Rs 2000 crore at the box office.
