Now, Cabinet Minister Piyush Goyal has given big hints regarding Tesla’s entry in India.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said something big about electric vehicles today. In an interview to CNBC TV18, he said that the electric vehicle market in India is growing rapidly and to take advantage of this, domestic as well as foreign companies want to come here and do business. Among the EV makers of India, TATA and Mahindra & Mahindra have not only manufactured here, they have also helped in creating a good trend towards EVs in the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recognized that the coming time can hold a lot of potential for electric wheelers.

TATA and Mahindra & Mahindra create proud moments for India
Indian companies like Tata and Mahindra & Mahindra, which are EV makers, have created proud moments for India. Under Make in India, such steps are being taken that can give a good momentum to EVs. Piyush Goyal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown a lot of enthusiasm for such initiatives and has worked on policy making that can benefit the common consumer. PM Modi has a similar vision and thinking for electric vehicles and for this, good infrastructure is being built in India.
What did the cabinet minister say about Tesla’s entry into India?
Regarding Tesla, Piyush Goyal said that many other foreign companies and EV maker companies want to come to India and do business. The Indian government is encouraging them to come here and manufacture EVs so that the number of EV vehicles in the country can increase. Tesla will also get similar opportunities through which it can do business in India and enjoy the huge market here.
Piyush Goyal said that we have brought a new electric vehicle policy so that EV companies can come to India and do business easily. He told about it-
1. Under the first measure, subsidies will be given to EV maker companies and under this, such companies can come to India and manufacture here and get subsidies on EV vehicles.
2. Under the second measure, electric vehicle companies are being given the option to import EV vehicles so that they can import electric vehicles to India at a lower import duty. The advantage of this will be that it will help in building EV infrastructure in the country and the number of cheap imported EV vehicles will increase.
