Tejashwi Yadav IPL Income: 34-year-old Tejashwi Yadav, who has become a big face in Bihar politics, has a deep connection with cricket. Very few people know that Tejashwi was a professional cricketer before entering politics. He not only played domestic cricket but was also a part of the world’s biggest cricket league i.e. IPL.
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejaswi Yadav was bought by Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2008. Tejaswi, who played domestic cricket for Jharkhand, was bought by Delhi for Rs 8 lakh in the auction of the first season. Tejaswi had a look similar to MS Dhoni at that time.
Tejaswi Yadav, a left-handed middle order batsman, also used to bowl when needed. Tejaswi not only stayed in the IPL for one season, but Delhi bet on him for four seasons. Between 2008 and 2012, there was a year in 2010 when Tejaswi was not a part of this league. However, due to injury, Tejaswi had to quit cricket and then he went into politics.
In IPL 2008, Delhi Daredevils bought Tejashwi Yadav for Rs 8 lakh. Then in the next year i.e. IPL 2009, Tejashwi got Rs 8 lakh. However, he was not a part of this league in IPL 2010 season. In IPL 2011, Delhi once again bet on Tejashwi Yadav. This time he was bought for Rs 10 lakh. Tejashwi Yadav’s IPL journey did not stop here. Delhi kept Tejashwi Yadav with them for Rs 10 lakh in IPL 2012 as well.
Surprisingly, Tejaswi Yadav, who was a part of the Delhi team for four years, did not get a chance to play even a single match. However, at that time there were many big names in Delhi. In such a situation, it was a very difficult task for a young player to make a place in the playing eleven. Even though Tejaswi could not play any IPL match, he earned a total of Rs 36 lakh from IPL.
