Suhas Yathiraj Wins Silver Medal in Badminton Paris Paralympics 2024: Suhas Yathiraj has won the silver medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024. He had to settle for the silver medal after losing 21-9, 21-13 against Lucas Mazur of France in the final of the men’s singles SL4 category. This is India’s 12th medal in these games and fourth medal in badminton. Let us remind you that Suhas got the first seed in this category, but he had to face a disappointing defeat in the gold medal match.
Suhas was seen struggling from the first game itself and at one point he was trailing 10-2 in the first game and eventually lost 21-9. The situation was similar in the second game. Although he tried to make a comeback in the last moments of the match, but eventually had to face defeat 21-13.
history repeated itself last time
Suhas had won the silver medal in the men’s singles SL4 category last time i.e. at the Tokyo Paralympics. Coincidentally, the athlete who defeated him in the final of the Tokyo Paralympics was Lucas Mazur of France. Suhas had lost 21-15, 17-21, 15-21 last time. This was Suhas Yathiraj’s second consecutive Paralympics, but both times he has missed out on winning the gold medal.
