This is the story of Akanksha Singh, who faced failure four times in the UPSC Preliminary Examination, but he did not give up. In his fifth and last attempt, he achieved 44th rank on the strength of hard work and determination and fulfilled the dream of becoming an IAS officer. Along with the job of Assistant Professor in Ranchi, he got this success after studying eight hours daily. His story proves that impossible can also be made possible by true dedication and continuous effort.
Success after four failure
Akanksha Singh failed four times in the UPSC Preliminary Examination. But in the fifth and last attempt, she succeeded and became an IAS officer. While working as Assistant Professor in Ranchi, he dedicated eight hours daily to the preparation of UPSC.

Akanksha did not lose courage even after failing four times in UPSC Preliminary Examination. In his fifth and last attempt, he wrote his success story by securing 44th rank in UPSC 2023 exam. He passed one of India’s most difficult competitive exams with eight hours of hard work daily.
Balance of job and UPSC preparation
Akanksha worked as an assistant professor at SS Memorial College, Ranchi. Most of his days were spent in college, due to which time was limited for UPSC preparation. He faced this challenge by studying four hours in the morning and four hours after returning from college. This disciplined 8 -hour study program finally gave him success.
Special attention to preliminary examination
Akanksha says that “I knew that when I pass prelims, I will definitely pass the UPSC exam. So I put hard work in this effort, especially focused on prelims.” He gave several mock tests and carefully analyzed his mistakes. Her alternative theme was Geography, which she also taught as a professor, which benefited her a lot.
Inspiration from father
Akanksha inspires his father, Chandra Kumar Singh, who was working as a joint secretary in the welfare department of Jharkhand before retiring. Akanksha completed his early education from Rajendra Vidyalaya in Jamshedpur. He graduated from Miranda College, University of Delhi and later received a post graduation and MPhil degree from JNU.
