National Medical Commission has issued an advisory for students wishing to study MBBS in medical institutions or universities. It has been said that students who want to become doctors after completing their medical studies from foreign institutions, must strictly follow these rules and instructions and take precautions so that they do not face difficulty in getting registration to practice in India in future. Don’t have to face it. Let us know about those guidelines…
There is a warning in the instructions
The National Medical Commission has asked the medical courses of institutions not following the guidelines issued in the Foreign Medical Graduate License Regulations 2021 to follow them 100 percent. The Commission has clarified that before taking admission for MBBS in any foreign university or medical college, students desirous of pursuing medical education abroad will be required to check whether these rules are being followed there or not.
If rules are not followed it will become difficult
In the advisory issued by the Commission, it has been said that the students of medical colleges or universities which are not found to be following these rules will not be allowed to register for medical practice in India. It is clarified that any change in duration, medium of instruction, curriculum or internship during the course may lead to disqualification in obtaining registration in India.
It is necessary to fulfill these conditions
As per the instructions of FMGL Regulations 2021, the duration of the course should be at least 54 months. It is necessary to have an internship of 12 months. The duration of the program should be completed within 10 years. Any medical degree obtained from abroad will have to be in English only. The curriculum and training should also be at par with the MBBS program in India which includes subjects like general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, psychiatry, obstetrics. Practical training in clinical subjects will be very important during the internship.
take care of these things
According to the National Exit Test Regulation, for permanent registration in India, it will be necessary to pass the National Exit Test or similar mandatory examination. Only after passing this will you be able to get permanent registration in India. It is necessary for the medical degree to be recognized by the regulatory body of the concerned foreign country so that registration can be given on its basis in India.
