The first day of the week i.e. Monday was nothing special for the Indian stock market. The market opened with a good start in the morning, but as the market closed, it saw a big decline. Both BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty fell into the last hour of business. The BSE Sensex, where, broke 217 points. At the same time, the Sensex closed at 74,115.17 points with a decline of 217.41 points, or 0.29 per cent.

Of the shares included in the Sensex, 22 were in disadvantage, while eight were in profit. The Sensex rose to 74,741.25 points during early trade. However, due to selling pressure before the market closure, it was at one time dropped to 310.34 points.
The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also fell at 22,460.30 points with a decline of 92.20 points, or 0.41 percent. IndusInd Bank, Zomato, Larsen & Toubro, Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Reliance Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tech Mahindra and Tata Consultancy Services were prominently damaged.
On the other hand, shares in profit include Power Grid, Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, Nestle India, Asian Paints, ITC, Sun Pharmaceuticals and ICICI Bank.
Foreign investors sell big
According to the stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares worth Rs 2,035.10 crore on Friday, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 2,320.36 crore. Global oil standard brent crude gained 0.34 percent to $ 70.60 per barrel. The BSE Sensex fell by a slight 7.51 points on Friday, while the NSE Nifty was in a profit of 7.80 points.
