Stock Market Closing: Today, Tuesday has proved to be a good day for the stock market and both Sensex and Nifty have closed in the green with gains. The realty index has seen a decline today and apart from PSU banks, the shares of the oil and gas sector have also seen a decline. Apart from this, all other sectoral indices have seen closing in the green with gains.
At what level did the stock market close
Today, the BSE Sensex closed at 81,741 with a jump of 285.95 points or 0.35 percent. Today, the NSE Nifty closed at 24,951.15 with a gain of 93.85 points or 0.38 percent. In the stock market trade, the BSE Sensex touched the day’s high level of 81,828.04 and the Nifty made a day’s high or higher level of 24,984.60.
How was the update on Sensex shares
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 closed with a rise and 10 closed with a fall. JSW Steel closed 3.64 percent higher and was the top gainer. Along with this, Asian Paints, Maruti, NTPC, Adani Ports and Bharti Airtel stocks saw the biggest rise.
Reliance Industries was the top loser in Sensex
Reliance Industries share was the top loser on Sensex today, falling 0.51 percent, followed by Tata Motors which also fell 0.51 percent. Shares of Infosys, M&M, Bajaj Finance and Power Grid closed with the biggest losses.
Nifty stocks closing update
Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 34 closed with a gain and 16 closed with a loss. Among the top gainers of Nifty, Maruti closed 3.89 percent higher. Along with this, shares of JSW Steel, HDFC Life, Asian Paints and NTPC rose. Among the falling stocks of Nifty, Britannia fell the most by 0.72 percent. Behind this, shares of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Apollo Hospitals, Tata Consumers and Reliance Industries closed with weakness.
Market Capitalization of BSE
The market capitalization of the stocks of companies listed on BSE has come down to Rs 462.52 lakh crore which is $5.52 trillion in US dollars. A total of 4036 stocks traded on BSE at the time of closing, out of which 2119 stocks rose. 1834 stocks declined and 83 stocks closed with no change.
