Jay Shah Replacement ACC President: Jay Shah has recently taken over as the new chairman of ICC, but with this he has had to lose another job. Actually, the current President of Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Shammi Silva has now become the new President of Asian Cricket Council (ACC). He has replaced Jai Shah, who was holding this post since 2021. Silva has also been a part of ACC before, where he held the post of Chairman of the Finance and Marketing Committee for many years.
Shammi Silva expressed happiness over being elected the new President of ACC and expressed hope that he will make every possible effort to take Asian cricket to a new level. He said, “It is an honor to lead the Asian Cricket Council. The game of cricket is the heartbeat of Asian fans. I will work with all the countries to take the game to new heights in Asia. Emerging players We will try to give opportunities to everyone and will try to improve relations with everyone with the help of this beautiful game.”
While assuming the charge of the post of President of Asian Cricket Council, Shammi Silva thanked Jay Shah for his services. Let us tell you that Silva has been the President of Sri Lanka Cricket Board since the year 2019. Talking about Jay Shah, after becoming the Chairman of ICC, he had to leave not only the post of President of ACC but also the post of Secretary of BCCI. Shammi Silva is not the first Sri Lankan to hold the post of ACC President. Before him, Gamini Dissanayake, Upali Dharmadasa, Thilanga Sumathipala, Jayanta Dharmadasa, Arjun Ranatunga have also held the charge of president.
