Siddhant Chaturvedi: Siddhant Chaturvedi’s film journey has been no less than any Bollywood film plot. He comes from a simple family background. Following his father’s footsteps, he became a chartered accountant. But at the same time he felt that he should go into the acting field. Since then, the actor worked hard to make his mark in Bollywood.
However, it was not so easy for Siddhant to make a place in the industry. The web show, Inside Edge and later Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy gave him recognition in the industry. But during this period, he had to face many rejections due to which he went into depression. In a new interview, Siddhant talked about his struggles in Bollywood.
Had my head shaved when my first big budget film closed
Being an outsider, the journey of Bollywood is not easy. Every day, thousands of people come to Mumbai with the dream of becoming an actor and face a lot of trouble. Many people’s dreams are fulfilled and many return home. Similarly, Siddhant had to face rejection for five years before playing the supporting role of ‘MC Sher’ in the film Gully Boy. Recently, Siddhant Chaturvedi revealed in an interview to Mashable India that when he was 21 years old and dreamed of doing something big in cinema, he signed his first film with a big banner production company.
Siddhant had told, “I was 21-22 years old at that time, I had auditioned for a film and was selected for that role. The workshop+ lasted for six months, so I learned how to do my hair and look as per my character. I started wearing clothes. After that, whenever I looked in the mirror, I shaved my hair.
After the film closed, mother asked me to do CA.
In the same interview, Siddhant told that his friends were preparing for CA exam and his mother had asked him to do the same after the film was closed. Siddhant said, “I was really depressed, and then for the next three months, until my hair grew, I was in zen mode. All my friends were doing CA, and I had left that too. My mother told me that I should at least appear for the CA finals because I was not doing anything anyway, but my father inspired me.”
