India vs New Zealand 1st Test: The first match of the Test series between India and New Zealand is being played in Bengaluru. Shubman Gill is not a part of this match. He is out of the playing eleven of Team India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India explained why Gill has been dropped. Shubhman has a problem in his neck. He was not available for selection for this reason. In his absence, Sarfaraz Khan has been given a chance.
BCCI shared the post on X after the toss. The board said that Shubhman Gill has a problem in his neck. For this reason he is not playing in the first match of the Test series against New Zealand. Gill has given strong performances on many occasions. But he has been ruled out of the Bengaluru Test due to not being completely fit. If Gill remains fit, he will definitely be included in the playing eleven of the second Test series.
Sarfaraz got a chance in place of Gill –
Sarfaraz has had a good record in domestic matches so far. He has also played 3 test matches for Team India. Sarfaraz has scored 200 runs during this period. Recently he scored unbeaten 222 runs in a home match. Looking at Sarfaraz’s form, he got a place in Team India. Now after Gill’s exit, he also got a place in the playing eleven.
The first day’s play was canceled due to rain –
The Bengaluru Test between India and New Zealand was to start from Wednesday. But due to rain the first day’s play was completely washed out. Therefore, now the match is being played after the toss on the second day. On the first day, some players of Team India also did indoor practice.
