In the mega auction, there was a fight between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings for Shreyas Iyer from beginning to end.
The base price of Arshdeep Singh was Rs 2 crore, KKR made the first bid on him but decided not to go beyond Rs 9.75 crore. After this, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals made bids of Rs 1 crore one after the other. The bid on Shreyas Iyer crossed Rs 15 crore, then Rs 20 crore and even Rs 25 crore. When Punjab bid Rs 26.25 crore, Delhi’s management appeared to be in a state of confusion for a long time. Delhi gambled on a bid of Rs 26.50 crore, but Punjab finally succeeded in adding Iyer by bidding Rs 26.75 crore.
