Shoaib Akhtar Slams Pakistan Cricket Board: Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has made a scathing attack on PCB. The reason for their anger is that the Pakistan Cricket Board has deliberately prepared pitches suitable for spin bowling for the last two Test matches against England. Let us tell you that a flat pitch was prepared for the first Test played in Multan, on which the Pakistan team suffered a shameful defeat by an innings and 47 runs. The second Test was also played in Multan, but this time the pitch was favorable for spinners, where Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali together took 20 wickets for England in both the innings.
Now the spinners are getting a lot of help in the third Test being played in Rawalpindi. Slamming the PCB on this issue, Shoaib Akhtar said, “This is what happens when you don’t give the right job to the right people and adopt the wrong mentality in the wrong job. I often used to complain to my captain that such a poor pitch. Why are they being made?”
PCB’s selfish approach
Shoaib Akhtar accused the PCB of being selfish and said, “What can we do now? We can either prepare pitches suitable for spin bowling to win the match from a selfish point of view or we can save the dignity of Test cricket. If it were me, I would try to save Test cricket.” Akhtar says that the PCB has adopted a selfish stance to hide the Pakistan team’s inability to win. Shoaib Akhtar, while playing for Pakistan, took a total of 444 wickets in all three formats. He believes that the decline of Pakistan cricket started not today but two decades ago.
