Shoaib Akhtar On Champions Trophy 2025 And BJP: Pakistan is set to host the Champions Trophy 2025, but the problem is that Team India is in no mood to visit Pakistan for the tournament. In such a situation, a hybrid model like the 2023 Asia Cup is being looked at. Meanwhile, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar gave a big statement and said that Team India’s coming to Pakistan will not depend on BCCI but on the BJP government.
In an interview to a TV channel, Akhtar said, “It is on the government. It has nothing to do with the BCCI. It is on the BJP government. They will decide. There will be talks behind the scenes. Even after the war. Talks continue behind the scenes. We should not lose hope. We know the truth that 95-98 percent of sponsorship comes from India.
Akhtar further said, “If Pakistan is not able to convince India to come to Pakistan, then two things will happen. We will lose $100 million sponsorship, which has to go to the ICC and has to come to the host country. Second, it will be good. That India should come here and play, but it is almost entirely up to the government. It has nothing to do with BCCI.”
Akhtar further emphasized that Pakistan’s image is such that it cannot host big tournaments. Akhtar said, “Pakistan has a tag that it cannot host big tournaments like World Cup and Champions Trophy. We keep hope. Let us wait till the last moment. If you ask me now, I will say that India is coming. Is.”
However, nothing has been officially clarified yet. Now it will be interesting to see whether Team India will go to Pakistan or not. Its decision will be taken only after the schedule is released.
