In 1968, there were reports of tension between Mala and Sharmila Tagore. There was a fight between the two on the sets of the film Humsaaya. The fights between the two started increasing with time and it became like a cold war. According to a report, Mala Sinha slapped Sharmila on the sets of the film itself.
After this, the situation became so bad that both of them did not like to even see each other’s face. Both of them even stopped talking to each other. It is said that in the end, the director of the film Joy Mukherjee had to intervene to reconcile the two.
However, much later, during a conversation, when Mala Sinha was questioned about this slapping incident, she denied it outright. Mala Sinha said that all these are nonsense and were spread for the publicity of the film at that time. The truth is that I can never raise my hand on my co-actor.
On the other hand, the truth is that after the film Humsaaya, these two actresses never appeared together on the silver screen. The special thing is that both of them were never seen together even in real life.
