Navratri 2024: The festival of Sharadiya Navratri holds special importance in Hinduism. Goddess Durga is specially worshipped during the nine days of Navratri. The festival of Navratri begins with the installation of the Kalash on the first day i.e. Pratipada.
But this time there are some such signs which cannot be called auspicious for the country and the world. This time the solar eclipse is happening on 2 October. According to the Panchang, the festival of Shardiya Navratri is starting on 3 October 2024.
The special thing is that this time Maa is coming on a palanquin (mata ki sawari). In Navratri, Maa’s ride reveals the future. The tradition of knowing the good and bad signs from Maa Durga’s ride or vehicle is an old one. Maa’s ride (Mata Ki Sawari) is decided according to the day.
The description of the mother’s ride (mata ka vahan) is found in Jyotish Granth and Devi Bhagvat Puran. Information about the mother’s ride is found through this shloka-
Shashi Surya Gajrudha Shanibhaumai Turangme.
Gurushukrech Dolayan Budhe Naukaprakirtita॥
According to this shloka, when Navratri starts on Monday or Sunday, Maa Durga arrives riding an elephant. If the Kalash Sthapana is done on Saturday and Tuesday, Maa arrives riding a horse. If it starts on Thursday or Friday, Maa Durga’s vehicle is a doli or palanquin. If Navratri starts on Wednesday, Maa Durga arrives riding a boat.
The festival of Shardiya Navratri is being celebrated on 3rd October 2024, i.e. Thursday. Since it is starting on Thursday, this year Maa is coming riding on a palanquin. According to Devi Bhagavat Puran, when the ride is a palanquin or a doli, it is not considered auspicious for the coming time.
It is believed that when Maa Durga arrives on a palanquin or doli during Navratri, it has a bad effect on the economy. Situations like recession and downturn are seen. Anger, discontent and resentment increase among people. People feel troubled. The possibility of natural disasters in the country and the world increases. The government has to face challenges. There is loss of life in accidents.
Solar eclipse is happening before Navratri
Navratri is starting from 3rd October, while the last solar eclipse of the year is taking place just a day before that i.e. on 2nd October. Earlier it had taken place on 18th September. The coincidence of two eclipses in 15 days is not considered auspicious in astrology. The coincidence of two eclipses in 15 days is also considered to be a cause of disaster and accident. The signals given by the two eclipses and the Maa’s ride in Shardiya Navratri (Shardiya Navratri 2024) together require more vigilance, restraint and caution.
