South Africa vs Pakistan, 2nd Test: The second match of the Cape Town Test series is being played between Pakistan and South Africa. Shan Masood created history in this match. He has broken a 27 year old record. Masood played a strong inning of 145 runs in the second innings of the Cape Town Test. He has become the Pakistani batsman who scored the most runs in an innings in South Africa. He has left behind many greats including Azhar Mahmood.
The Pakistani team was all out in the first innings on the score of 194 runs. But he crossed the 400-run mark in the second innings. Shan Masood scored a century in this innings. He faced 251 balls and scored 145 runs. This innings of Masood included 17 fours. Along with him, Babar Azam also showed amazing performance. He scored a half-century. Babar played an inning of 81 runs.
Masood broke 27 years old record –
Shan Masood has broken a 27 year old record with his century. He has become the highest scorer for Pakistan in an innings in South Africa. Masood has defeated Azhar Mahmood. He played an inning of 136 runs in 1998. Whereas Taufiq Umar had played an inning of 135 runs in 2003.
Babar Azam also showed his strength in Cape Town –
Babar Azam scored two half-centuries in the Cape Town Test. He scored 58 runs with the help of 7 fours in the first innings. He played an inning of 81 runs in the second innings. Babar hit 10 fours during this period.
