Shakib Al Hasan Murder Case Arrest: Bangladesh’s legendary cricketer Shakib Al Hasan is currently in India for the 2 Test match series. But a few days ago, he was accused of murder in his own country. Let us remind you that before the coup in Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan was an MP from Awami League in the Sheikh Hasina government. Amidst the student protests, a man had accused 156 people including Shakib of murdering his son, Rubel.
A few days ago, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had said that Shakib will not be stopped from playing cricket until he is convicted. Now Shahriar Nafees, in-charge of cricket operations in BCB, said, “I think the chief advisor, sports advisor and legal affairs advisor have clearly put forward their stand. The clear message of the Bangladesh government is that in whatever cases have been registered, no one will be harassed without any basis.”
Nafees also said in his statement that the interim government of Bangladesh has made it clear that Shakib can be out of the team only due to injury or any problem in selection. At present, he personally does not see any reason why Shakib should not play in the upcoming home series against South Africa. This statement has somehow made it clear that Shakib Al Hasan will not be arrested on his return to Bangladesh nor will he be harassed for any other reason.
