Along with this, he wrote in the caption, “I feel happy to welcome a hero. Sanju Samson who recently returned to Thiruvananthapuram after scoring a brilliant century against Bangladesh. To honor him, I presented a shawl to Samson. ” Let us tell you that Shashi Tharoor has been a big fan of Sanju Samson. When this wicketkeeper batsman did not get a place in the squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup, Tharoor had strongly criticized the selectors.
Hit 5 sixes in one over
India-Bangladesh third T20 match also became memorable for Sanju Samson because he hit 5 sixes in a single over of Rishad Hussain. Actually, he had already planned this feat because his mentor was already pushing him to hit sixes continuously. Samson had been chasing this record for a long time, now finally he has actually done it. Samson scored a century in 40 balls against Bangladesh and his innings ended at the score of 111 in 47 balls. He also became the first wicket-keeper batsman of India to score a century in T20 cricket.
