Sanju Samson Hundred Duleep Trophy 2024: In the Duleep Trophy 2024, Sanju Samson has made a strong claim for selection in the Indian team by scoring the 11th century of his first-class career. Samson scored a century while playing for India D and he has come to the third place in terms of most centuries scored by Kerala players. Sachin Baby (18) and Rohan Prem (13) are ahead of him.
Sanju Samson completed his century in 95 balls, which included 12 fours and 3 sixes. In the same match, India D captain Shreyas Iyer was out on a score of zero, but Samson took full advantage of the opportunity and thrashed India B bowlers while playing at a strike rate of more than 100. On the second day, Samson’s innings ended at a score of 106 runs. He was caught by Nitish Kumar off Navdeep Saini.
Samson came as a replacement
Sanju Samson was not even selected in the Duleep Trophy, but he got a place in the India D squad as a replacement for Ishan Kishan. Although by playing this century innings, Samson has made a strong claim to come in the Indian team, but Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan and KL Rahul are already included in this list. In such a situation, it will not be easy for Samson to come back to Team India. If we look at Sanju Samson’s first-class career, he has crossed the mark of 3,700 runs. In his career, he has also scored 11 centuries and 16 half-centuries.
Samson had earlier got a chance in the T20 series against Sri Lanka, where he was out on a score of zero on both occasions. Now he has given a befitting reply to his critics by playing a century innings.
