Sanju Samson Century T20I: Sanju Samson has scored a century in the first T20 match being played against South Africa in Durban. He has completed his century in 47 balls. With this, Samson has now become the first Indian cricketer in the history of international T20 cricket to score centuries in two consecutive innings. Samson had earlier played an inning of 111 runs in the last match of the series against Bangladesh. Now in his very next innings, Samson has scored a century against South Africa.
Sanju Samson started the innings of Team India along with Abhishek Sharma. Abhishek returned to the pavilion after scoring just 7 runs, but Samson remained at the crease from the other end. Meanwhile, he completed his fifty in 27 balls and the amazing thing was that he played only 20 balls to score the next 50 runs. He made an important partnership of 66 runs with captain Suryakumar Yadav. Tilak Verma also supported him well, who scored 33 runs in 18 balls.
Centuries in consecutive innings in T20 cricket
Sanju Samson is the first Indian to score a century in two consecutive T20 matches. Before him, Gustave McKeon of France, Riley Rousseau of South Africa and Phil Salt of England have achieved the feat of scoring two consecutive centuries in T20 cricket. His innings ended on a score of 107, in which he hit 7 fours and 10 sixes.
