Samsung Electronics: It is going to be almost a month since the ongoing strike at Samsung’s South India plant. Despite all efforts and strictness, the employees of the Chennai plant are not ready to end the strike. Now Tamil Nadu government has also taken entry in this matter. State Chief Minister MK Stalin has entrusted the responsibility of ending this strike to his three ministers. Meanwhile, information is coming out that Samsung has agreed to accept all the demands of the employees. But, the company alleges that the employee union CITU is creating obstacles in this agreement.
Samsung officials meet Tamil Nadu Industry Minister
According to the report of Business Standard, senior officials of Korean electronics company Samsung met Tamil Nadu Industry Minister TRB Rajaa on Sunday. During this, he demanded to end the ongoing strike in his plant as soon as possible. About 1,750 employees work in this Samsung plant. Of these, about 1,100 people have been on strike since September 9. Their demand is that the salary should be increased. Working hours should be improved and their union Center of Indian Trade Unions should be given recognition.
Management and employees will reach an agreement soon
Apart from TRB Raja, Chief Minister MK Stalin has entrusted the responsibility of ending the Samsung strike to MSME Minister TM Anbarasan and Labor Minister CV Ganesan. TRB Raja said that we have discussed with the management of Samsung. A solution will be found on this issue as soon as possible. We have full hope that Samsung’s management and the striking employees will reach an agreement soon. Everyone will benefit from this.
Big blow to Samsung during festive season due to strike
In this case, recently about 900 striking employees who were taking out a rally were detained. Apart from this, Samsung has also approached the court to stop the strike. Besides, these employees were also given notice to fire them. Recently information came to light that the company had sent chocolates to these employees. She also said that she will take decisions only in the interest of the employees. Due to this strike, Samsung has suffered a big blow during the festive season.
