Sameer Rizvi IPL Auction 2025 Price: Sameer Rizvi, who plays for Uttar Pradesh in Indian domestic cricket, came into limelight during the IPL 2024 auction. Last year, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 8.40 crore, but this time Delhi Capitals has bought him by bidding only Rs 95 lakh. Sameer is currently busy in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and he plays the role of a finisher for the UP team. This time there has been a huge decline of about 884 percent in Sameer’s IPL salary.
CSK usually does not spend crores of rupees on uncapped players, yet Chennai spent Rs 8.40 crore on Sameer last season. Sameer’s base price in the IPL 2025 mega auction was Rs 30 lakh and this time too CSK made the first bid on him. There was a struggle between Chennai and Delhi Capitals to buy him. Chennai Super Kings pulled out at Rs 90 lakh. Finally Delhi Capitals bought it with a bid of Rs 95 lakh.
UP T20 League had made a star
Before the auction, Sameer Rizvi had scored a lot of runs in the UP T20 League 2023. He scored 455 runs in the league including two centuries and played at a stormy strike rate of more than 188. Sameer also performed well in the UP T20 League 2024 season and he stood second in terms of scoring most runs in the season. He scored 469 runs in 13 matches in the 2024 season. This time he could not score a century, but definitely played three half-century innings. Sameer is also an expert in hitting sixes. This season he hit 31 fours and 32 sixes.
