Sachin Tendulkar Last Match: The day of 15 November 1989 when Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut against Pakistan. At the age of just 16, the qualities of a great batsman started appearing in Sachin. After that, Sachin served the Indian cricket team for 24 years and set a record of scoring more than 34,000 international runs. But on 14th November i.e. today, ‘Master Blaster’ played the last match of his career in the year 2013.
In those days the West Indies team was on Indian tour and two matches were to be played in the Test series. In the first match, India had won by a huge margin of an innings and 51 runs. The second match of the series and the last match of Sachin Tendulkar’s career started from 14th November at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. West Indies’ first innings ended at just 182 runs.
Sachin Tendulkar received Guard of Honor
Sachin Tendulkar came to bat on the very first day because Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay had lost their respective wickets in the same over. When Sachin Tendulkar came out of the dressing room to play the 200th match of his Test career, all the 11 West Indies players honored him by giving him the Guard of Honor. Every fan present in Wankhede Stadium was raising slogans of Sachin-Sachin. There was also a question in the minds of his fans whether Sachin would be able to end his international career with the memory of a century.
Contribution with bat and ball also
Sachin Tendulkar had scored 74 runs and he had a partnership of 144 runs with Virat Kohli. Unfortunately, Sachin was out after scoring 74 runs in the 48th over of the innings. When he was returning back to the pavilion, the entire stadium stood up in his honour. Sachin also bowled 2 overs in his last match, he gave 8 runs but could not take any wicket. Till date, Sachin is the only player in the history of Test cricket to play 200 matches.
