SA vs WI 2nd Test Highlights: In the second and final match of the two-match Test series played between West Indies and South Africa, South Africa won by 40 runs. With this victory, South Africa won the series. The first match of the series ended in a draw, due to which South Africa won the series played on West Indies soil as soon as they won the second Test.
The second test of the series played at Providence Stadium in Guyana was quite exciting. First South Africa and then West Indies appeared weak in the match. South Africa came out to bat first in the match and collapsed for 160 runs in the first innings. Then West Indies came out for their first innings and were all out for 144 runs.
During the first innings of both the teams, the dominance of the bowlers was seen. Then in the second innings, Africa was all out for 246 runs and gave a target of 263 runs to West Indies to win.
West Indies crumbled while chasing the target
West Indies started off well in chasing the target, but gradually the African bowlers started dominating. West Indies lost their first wicket in the form of Michael Lewis (04) at a score of 12 runs. After this, the team lost the second wicket in the form of captain Craig Brathwaite at a score of 54 runs. The captain played an innings of 25 runs. Then half of the West Indies team returned to the pavilion at a score of 103 runs and the team lost the sixth wicket at a score of 104 runs. In this way, gradually the batting of West Indies kept getting weak and finally they had to lose the match by getting all out at 222 runs.
African bowlers did wonders
South Africa’s bowlers kept West Indies tied down while chasing the target. During this period, fast bowler Kagiso Rabada and spinner Keshav Maharaj took 3-3 wickets for South Africa. Apart from this, Wiaan Mulder and Dane Piedt took 2-2 wickets each.
