An interesting incident caught everyone’s attention on the second day of the second Test match being played between South Africa and Sri Lanka at St. George’s Park, Guatemala. During South Africa’s first innings, Kagiso Rabada became the victim of the lethal bowling of Sri Lankan bowler Lahiru Kumara.
In the 90th over, Kagiso Rabada tried to defend a short length ball from Lahiru Kumara near the off stump. But the ball hit the bat at such a high speed that Rabada’s bat broke into two pieces. This incident has become a topic of discussion not only on the field but also on social media. Rabada had to replace his broken bat with a new one.

South Africa’s innings ended at 358 runs
Batting first, South Africa scored 358 runs in 103.4 overs. The team’s middle order batsmen performed brilliantly. Ryan Rickleton scored the first century of his Test career by scoring 101 runs in 250 balls, while Kyle Verrine completed his third Test century by scoring 105 runs in 133 balls. Captain Temba Bavuma also played an important inning of 78 runs in 109 balls, due to which the team was successful in scoring a strong score.
Lahiru Kumara’s lethal bowling
Lahiru Kumara performed brilliantly for Sri Lanka and took 4 important wickets. He sent batsmen like Aiden Markram, Tristan Stubbs and Shatkaveer Rickleton to the pavilion. Apart from this, Asitha Fernando took 3 wickets and Vishwa Fernando took 2 wickets, due to which Sri Lanka reduced South Africa’s innings to 358 runs.
