The actor played the character of Rishabh Malhotra in this TV serial directed by Mahesh Bhatt and Debloy Dey. This was a serial which used to rule the TRP charts in the 90s and in this, Rohit Bose Roy also got a lot of fame.
Rohit Roy’s acting career
When Rohit Bose Roy got so much fame right from his debut, this success started speaking to him. He also worked in many TV serials like ‘Baat Ban Jaye’, ‘Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand’ and ‘Virasat’. Actors became arrogant due to overnight fame
There came a time in the life of Rohit Bose Roy, who gained fame from his debut show, when his career started ending and the reason for this was his arrogance, about which Rohit himself had revealed. In an interview given to Mirchi Plus, Rohit Roy had given the reason for the downfall of his career. He had said- ‘I used to be very arrogant. I am not from Mumbai, I am from Ahmedabad, which was a small city. Growing up, I only studied. I was a good student.
‘I have no role in its success…’
Rohit had said- ‘When I came into this field and the show Swabhiman became a huge hit. This was an overnight success. If I had worked hard for it, I would have respected the process. I have no role in its success. This is something that I got by luck, I was not a trained actor. Its success stuck in my mind. I began to feel that whatever I touched would turn into gold. I became arrogant and impatient.
‘This behavior is not acceptable for a star…’
The actor had said- ‘If someone is not thinking as fast as me, I will become impatient. But at that time this unfiltered behavior would not work because people were seeing me as a star. This behavior is not acceptable for any star. I could have handled it better. But I was young and cruel. Rohit Roy had admitted that he made a mistake by not taking his wife Mansi Joshi’s criticism seriously.
Rohit Roy regretted not listening to his wife
He had said, ‘My friends were also enjoying my success. My wife Mansi gave me feedback about my acting, she told me that you don’t know acting. You are just copying Amitabh Bachchan. I told him that you don’t know acting. The whole country is celebrating me, but if I had listened to Mansi, my journey to learn acting would have gone much faster.
