Rishabh Pant Flop Show: The Delhi Premier League T20 (Delhi Premier League T20, 2024) started on Saturday (17 August). The first match of the tournament was played between Old Delhi 6 captained by Rishabh Pant and South Delhi Superstars. Delhi 6 captained by Pant had to face defeat in the match. Captain Pant’s flop was one of the major reasons for the team’s defeat. As soon as he flopped in the first match of the tournament, the fans scolded Pant.
In the first match played on Saturday, Old Delhi, captained by Rishabh Pant, came out to bat at 6. Captain Pant came to bat at number three for the team. Pant could not make much impact. Batting at a strike rate of 109.37, he scored 35 runs in 32 balls, which included 4 fours and 1 six. Seeing this poor performance of Pant, fans started criticizing him on social media.
Pant was selected as the main wicketkeeper batsman for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024 played in June. However, Pant could not do anything special even in the T20 World Cup. He played mostly short innings. In the final of the tournament against South Africa, Pant was out without opening his account. Now in the Delhi Premier League too, nothing special was seen from Pant’s bat, seeing which the fans appeared disappointed and expressed their anger through social media.
One user wrote, “Pant was not looking good at all against the spinners. Apart from this, another user said that we call Pant a match winner, but the truth is different in white ball cricket. See the reaction here…
Rishabh Pant is such a shit T20 player that he cannot even do well in local T20 league of DDCA.
His team had great start and then he arrived and ruined whole runrate
Pant doesn’t belong to White Ball Cricket.
He was playing on 25 off 29 balls & then hit 6/4 before getting out. pic.twitter.com/v7w0AigLGz

On a flat deck in the first game of DPL Pant is 24 off 27. This is not the IPL, this is not T20I. This is a state T20 league. He’s now won the T20I WC win for India and yet here he is. He can’t play spin at all. And this is not good news for the ICT.

We call Rishabh Pant a match winner but in reality it’s far far away from delivery in white ball cricket.
He plays 20-30 balls almost every time but manages to score only run & ball which will not help any team in T20.Even 25 of 10 balls will be very satisfactory in this format. pic.twitter.com/tr0Q6W0AL7
