Mukesh Ambani had stopped taking salary in June 2020
In June 2020, Mukesh Ambani voluntarily decided to forego his entire remuneration for the year 2020-21, including salary, allowances, perquisites, retirement benefits as well as any commission. The RIL CMD took this decision keeping in mind the damage to the social, economic and industrial health of the country due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in India. Earlier, Mukesh Ambani had limited his remuneration to Rs 15 crore from 2008-09, that is, he had put a limit on taking salary or other remuneration of more than Rs 15 crore in a year from the company.
