RCB Head Coach Andy Flower on Virat Kohli Captaincy: Now about 2 months are left for the start of IPL 2025. The 18th season of IPL will start from March 14 to May 25, in which once again 10 teams will want to defeat each other and reach the title. Meanwhile, there is speculation that Virat Kohli will again get the captaincy of Royal Challengers Bangalore. This issue has not been confirmed yet, but a statement from RCB head coach Andy Flower has almost confirmed Virat getting the captaincy again.
Andy Flower and his brother Grant Flower discussed together and said that give the captaincy to Virat Kohli and keep watching the wonders. Andy says that Virat still has a lot of cricket left in him, even if he has not been able to score many runs in recent months. Let us remind you that Virat was last seen full-time captaining RCB in the year 2021, after that he has sometimes been seen handling the responsibility of captaincy in matches.
Andy Flower took over as the head coach of RCB in IPL 2024. Even when the team retained Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore, they had issued a big statement saying that Virat is and will remain an integral part of the Bangalore team. Andy Flower had expressed happiness that despite the poor performance in the first half, the team was successful in going to the playoffs, in which Virat also made a big contribution.
As far as captaincy is concerned, Virat Kohli captained RCB from 2011-2021. In this long journey, he took charge of the Bengaluru team in 143 matches, but was able to lead the team to victory only on 66 occasions against 70 defeats. From the win percentage point of view, Anil Kumble, Daniel Vettori and Faf du Plessis were also much better captains than Kohli.
