IND vs AUS 2nd Test Ashwin And Jadeja: In the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 played in Perth, Team India had prepared the bowling department against Australia with three proper fast bowlers, a fast bowling all-rounder and a spin all-rounder. India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja were not seen in the playing eleven in the match. Now the Pink Ball Test to be played in Adelaide also seems to be disappointing for Ashwin and Jadeja.
Team India’s star batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is seen doing commentary in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Before the second Test to be played in Adelaide, Pujara explained why Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will not get a place in the Pink Ball Test.
Pujara said that Team India had a complete bowling attack in the Perth Test. Sundar seems to be a better option as a spinner because he also has great batting ability.
Pujara was asked on ESPNcricinfo whether you want Team India to go with the same bowling attack in the second Test? Responding to this he said, “This bowling attack gave us success. Bumrah looked very good. Siraj was very brilliant and then he was supported by Harshit. You have to admit that he bowled very well. He was playing his first match. .”
Pujara further said, “Nitish Kumar bowled a little bit, so I think those four fast bowlers are proper options along with Washington Sundar. When he started, he did not look very good, but then he got some wickets. Washington should be our spinner because he can bat well. The reason for including him in the squad is because he can bat and I think it will be an essential part in the second Test match.”
Regarding Sundar’s batting further, Pujara said, “If we lose some wickets early. If the lower middle order needs to contribute, then Washington can do that job.”
