But he got household recognition for his character ‘Rosesh Sarabhai’ in the famous sitcom ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’. Rajesh played many types of roles on television. However suddenly Rajesh Kumar left acting and made farming his profession. Now recently he revealed that when he decided to become a farmer, he had to go through a very difficult phase.
Rajesh Kumar was drowned in debt
Rajesh Kumar recently told in an interview to Siddharth Kannan that after leaving acting, he went back home and started farming with his father. Rajesh said, “After becoming a farmer, I had a loan of more than Rs 1.5 crore. My friends and family invested an entire year in this journey, which was the most difficult phase of my life. I was answerable to those people who Gave loan to me: my family, farmer and my wife.”
Had to sell vegetables outside son’s school
Rajesh also told that his startup did not work, so he had to sell vegetables to earn money. He remembered setting up a vegetable stall outside his son’s school, where his son used to ask his teachers to buy vegetables. My son’s friends also used to tell me in school that Viaan’s father was selling vegetables.
Rejected from Shark Tank India
Rajeshu Kumar further revealed that he also auditioned in Shark Tank as a contestant but was rejected after two rounds of audition. He thought that being an actor and a well-known face would help him in getting this offer, but it did not happen. Rajesh said that after failing, he became very disappointed and his self-confidence had also reduced.
He said, “I had applied for Shark Tank India. I had cleared two out of three rounds. I had to submit my videos, so I thought I might get a favor since I’m a familiar face. Here is an actor, who is a social entrepreneur and talking about agriculture. My presentation was in Kolkata and it was completed in a single day. My father paid for the tickets.
How did you get the roll in the bone?
Rajesh told that just before leaving for Shark Tank, he got a call from the team of Haddi that the director and the casting team wanted to meet him. At that time he was feeling nervous and lacking in confidence. He said, “Just before I left for Shark Tank India, I got a call from Haddi and he wanted to meet me. My confidence was so shaken, when I went to meet the casting director in his office, he told me that the director Meet me. I thought he would audition me, then he said the production people would discuss the money, however, okay, I would audition after that.

He further added, “I was like, but what about my audition? They said we just want you on board. The director just had a request if I could shave my head. I said I would.” I can, if you pay me Rs 1 lakh extra, and he did.”
