Indian Airlines: There are frequent controversies about the food served on Indian airlines. Customers sometimes raise questions about its quality and sometimes about its quantity. Now Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, has asked some questions to the airlines about food, which are eye-opening. She has asked why there is a tradition of serving foreign breakfast in Indian airlines when India has many of its own dishes which are liked in every household.
Why are we only being given sandwiches during flight?
Radhika Gupta has asked on the social media platform X that during air travel we get box food. It has two pieces of bread. It has cheese and other things. This is called our breakfast. This should be stopped. This is India, not abroad. In our country, there are countless things like paratha, idli, dhokla as breakfast. During travel, our mother prepares amazing paratha rolls from the leftover vegetables. But, we get the same boring sandwiches every time in the airplane. You are requested to be a little creative. Spare us sandwiches and think of giving us something better.
Discussion started on social media, people are giving different advice
This post of the CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund went viral instantly. People are giving their different opinions on this. A user has supported her and written that our chefs can make many things. They can be served during air travel. A user praised Air India’s breakfast and wrote that they serve many things like paratha. Many users are raising questions on the quality of breakfast and saying that it would be best if we come to the airport after eating food at home. A user has even demanded chole bhature and jalebi.
I am calling for an end to airlines and makers of boxed food who serve two pieces of bread stuffed with cheese and coleslaw (veg sandwich) in the name of breakfast.
This is India not the West. We have amazing breakfast food from across the country – parantha, idlis, dhoklas,…
