PV Sindhu in India open super 750: Indian star badminton player PV Sindhu will start her 2025 season with Yonex-Sunrise India Open. The third edition of India Open Super 750 will start from January 14 at the KD Jadhav Hall of Indira Gandhi Stadium, where players from all over the world will be seen participating. Sindhu, who got married last year, can be seen playing women’s singles in the Super 750 tournament this time. PV Sindhu last participated in the Syed Modi International Championship 2024, where she won the gold medal by defeating China’s Luo Yu Wu in straight sets.
Super 750 has been the main competition organized by the Badminton Association of India, in this edition of the tournament, Olympic champion Victor Axelsen, Ann Se Young and world number one Shi Yuqi will be seen spreading their magic among the fans on the field. This tournament has been a part of the BWF World Tour since its inception, where the winner gets a prize money of US$9,50,000 and 11,000 points. 21 players from host India will participate in the third edition of the tournament. For India, 3 players will present their claim in Men’s Singles, 4 in Women’s Singles, 2 in Men’s Doubles, 8 in Women’s Doubles and 4 in Mixed Doubles. In the last two editions, 14 players had entered from India.
In this edition, all eyes will be on men’s doubles Asian gold medalist Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Asian Games bronze medalist HS Prannoy. The pair of Satwik and Chirag had made it to the finals of the tournament last time, while Prannoy’s journey came to an end in the last four. Along with this, 2022 India Open Super 750 Men’s Singles champion and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will present her claim for the title.
