Vikas Bharat 2047: India will complete 100 years of independence in the year 2047. The Modi government at the Centre has set a target of making India a developed nation by 2047. To achieve this target, a meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog will be held on July 27, 2024 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the theme of which has been kept as Developed India @ 2047. The focus of the meeting will be on how to make India a developed nation.
The Governing Council of NITI Aayog will discuss the approach paper and vision document on Developed India @ 2047 in its meeting. The meeting will discuss improving the delivery mechanism to improve the quality of life for rural and urban residents through government intervention along with increasing participatory governance and partnership between the central and state governments. The role of states in making India a developed nation in 2047 will also be discussed in the meeting.
Niti Aayog said in its press release before the meeting, India is on its way to becoming the third economy of the world with a GDP of $ 5 trillion and will achieve the target of a $ 30 trillion economy by 2047. Niti Aayog said, to make India a developed nation by 2047, a collaborative approach will be required between the Center and the states. This vision will be discussed in the 9th Niti Aayog Governing Council meeting and how the Center and the states can work as Team India will be discussed.
The recommendations of the National Conference of Chief Secretaries will be discussed in the meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog in December 2023. Recommendations have been made on five major subjects in the National Conference of Chief Secretaries, including
1. Drinking water: access, quantity and quality
2. Electricity: quality, efficiency and reliability
3. Health: Accessibility, Affordability, and Quality of Care
4. School education: access and quality
5. Land and Property: Accessibility, Digitisation, Registration and Mutation
In the meeting of Chief Secretaries, cyber security, Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme, role of states and AI in governance were discussed.
The Prime Minister is the chairperson of the Niti Aayog. The meeting will be attended by the Chief Ministers of the states, Lieutenant Governors of the states and union territories, ministers in the central government as well as officials of the Niti Aayog.
