Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched LIC Bima Sakhi Scheme on Monday. Under this scheme, 10th pass women selected will be given commission along with a salary of Rs. 7,000. They will also get training as insurance agents for three years. Launching the LIC Bima Sakhi scheme from Panipat, the Prime Minister said that the objective of this scheme is to make women self-reliant. Any woman between 18 years to 70 years can apply for this scheme.
Application for this can be made in the nearest branch of LIC or on the official website. To apply, you will have to attach age proof, address proof and self-attested copy of 10th pass certificate. Once selected under the scheme, during the three years of training, seven thousand rupees will be given every month in the first year, six thousand rupees in the second year and five thousand rupees in the third year. They will also get commission with every insurance. On completing the insurance target, they will be given a bonus along with salary and commission.
Two lakh women will be selected
Under the LIC Bima Sakhi scheme, two lakh women from across the country will be selected and trained to become LIC agents. In the first phase of the scheme, 35 thousand women will be given employment as insurance agents. After this, 50 thousand more women will get employment under the scheme. The women i.e. Bima Sakhis who graduate will also get a chance to work as development officers in LIC. Relative of any LIC agent or employee cannot apply for this scheme. Applications of any former employee, former agent or current agent of LIC will also be rejected under this.
