PM Modi Gifts E-Auction: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday was yesterday, i.e. 17 September. Usually gifts are received on birthdays, but the e-auction of gifts or souvenirs received by the Prime Minister of India has been started only yesterday. The e-auction of gifts and souvenirs received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi started on Tuesday and will continue till 2 October 2024. This time, about 600 items received as gifts by Prime Minister Modi in the last one year will be auctioned. More than 600 gifts and souvenirs received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including a replica of Ayodhya’s Ram temple, are being e-auctioned.
Which gifts are included in the e-auction
The items on auction include a range of traditional art, including paintings, intricate sculptures, indigenous handicrafts and beautiful folk and tribal artifacts. These treasures include many items traditionally given as a symbol of respect and honour, including traditional angavastras, shawls, headgear and ceremonial swords.

The gifts with the lowest base price include cotton angavastram, cap and shawl and their price has been kept at Rs 600. Like every time, this time also the money received from the auction of gifts received by Prime Minister Modi will be given to the Namami Gange project. This money is a major initiative of the Government of India for the conservation of the Ganga river and the safety of its delicate ecosystem.
Which gifts did PM Modi receive that were most expensive?
These include badminton rackets of Paralympic bronze medal winners Nitya Shri Sivan and Sukant Kadam, and discus of silver medal winner Yogesh Khatunia. Their base price has been fixed at around Rs 5.50 lakh. Apart from shoes presented by Paralympic bronze medal winners Ajit Singh and Simran Sharma and silver medal winner Nishad Kumar, the base price of the signed cap of silver medal winner Sharad Kumar has been kept at around Rs 2.86 lakh.
A replica of Ram Temple costing Rs 5.50 lakh, a peacock statue costing Rs 3.30 lakh, a Ram Darbar statue costing Rs 2.76 lakh and a silver veena costing Rs 1.65 lakh are among the gifts with high base price and these have the highest base price,

A section of the auction is dedicated to India’s brave warriors and freedom fighters, celebrating the glorious chapters of the country’s history. A major highlight of this auction is the sports memorabilia from the Paralympic Games, 2024, which have been given to PM Modi by various medal winners.
Who conducts this e-auction?
According to Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat, a government committee decides the base price for the auction of these gifts of PM Modi. The prices in e-auction range from a minimum of Rs 600 to a maximum of Rs 8.26 lakh. The option of e-auction of all gifts is open to the general public and they can participate in the e-auction for gifts starting from Rs 600 to souvenirs worth about Rs 8.26 lakh.
Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday visited the exhibition of souvenirs received by the Prime Minister at the National Gallery of Modern Art. After this, he said that this extraordinary collection gifted to PM Modi shows the rich fabric of the country’s culture, history and spirituality along with politics.
“PM Souvenirs are back! This is your chance to own gifts and souvenirs presented to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi! Join the e-auction from 17th September to 2nd October and place your bids on unique artefacts, crafts and sculptures,” the Culture Ministry said in a post on X.
Since when is this e-auction of gifts going on?
The first edition of the e-auction of gifts received by PM Modi was launched in January 2019 and received a good response. This is the sixth edition of the series of successful auctions of the Prime Minister’s souvenirs. The first edition was launched in January 2019. More than Rs 50 crore has been raised so far in five editions. According to the Ministry of Culture, a part of the auction pays tribute to India’s brave warriors and freedom fighters as well as celebrates the glorious chapters of the country’s history.
