PCB Angry Fakhar Zaman Tweet Supporting Virat Kohli: Pakistan Cricket Board had recently announced its team for the second and third test matches against England. Fakhar Zaman had made a post on social media expressing his displeasure over Babar Azam not being included in the squad. In this post he said that BCCI did not drop Virat Kohli during his bad phase but supported him. Similarly, PCB should also support a top batsman like Babar instead of dropping him.
Now quoting PTI, a source in the Pakistan Cricket Board said that many senior officials within the board are not happy with this post of Fakhar. This source said, “Many top officials of the board are not happy with the post made by Fakhar Zaman. Even the officials have contacted Fakhar Zaman to talk in this regard. Let us tell you that Fakhar Zaman will be appointed after May 2024. After that he has not been seen playing cricket for Pakistan.
What is Fakhar Zaman’s controversial post?
After Babar Azam was dropped, Fakhar Zaman made a post, in which he referred to the period from 2020 to 2023. During this time, Virat Kohli was struggling to score runs in all three formats of international cricket. His average in all three formats was less than 30. Fakhar said that in that bad phase, BCCI did not drop Kohli but had expressed confidence in him.
Similarly, Babar Azam is also struggling a lot especially in Test cricket because after December 2022, he has not played even a half-century, let alone a century, in Test matches. His highest score in the last 18 Test innings is 41 runs. That’s why Fakhar Zaman said that PCB should support its top batsman, Babar Azam in bad times.
