Swapnil Kusale Final Shooting Paris Olympics 2024: Swapnil Kusale has become the first Indian shooter to reach the final of the 50m rifle three position event of the Olympics. The life story of this 28-year-old shooter is quite similar to that of legendary Indian cricketer MS Dhoni. Swapnil hails from Kambalwadi village in Kolhapur, Maharashtra and has been representing India in international events since 2012. Now after a long wait of 12 years, he has made his Olympic debut.
Swapnil Kusale has been working in Central Railway since 2015. Just like MS Dhoni used to be a ticket collector in his life, Swapnil also works as a ticket collector in Central Railway. This talented shooter of India is very impressed with the personality of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Swapnil says that he has seen MS Dhoni’s biopic many times and takes inspiration from the achievements of the legendary cricketer. Dhoni is known for his calm nature on the cricket field, while shooting also requires a calm and patient nature. That is why Swapnil is able to relate his life to Dhoni.
Considers MS Dhoni as his ideal
Swapnil considers MS Dhoni as his idol and said, “I don’t follow any particular athlete in the shooting world. I am a fan of Dhoni’s personality outside the shooting world. Just like Dhoni is calm on the cricket field, my game also requires a calm and patient nature. I can relate to his story because I also work as a ticket collector like him.”

We told you that Swapnil started his international shooting career in 2012. He comes from Kambalwadi village, his father and brother are both teachers and his mother is the Sarpanch of Kambalwadi village. In his youth, he had to choose one of the 2 sports, but he decided to pursue shooting. But at the junior level, he did not have money to buy bullets. Let us tell you that Swapnil was the gold medalist in the 50m rifle 4 position competition of the 2022 Asian Games.
