In the 18th minute, Gonzalo Pelliat scored a goal and equalized the score. After this, in the 27th minute, Christopher Ruhr scored another goal and gave Germany the lead.
In the 36th minute, India got a penalty corner, which Harmanpreet hit towards the goalpost through a drag flick. Sukhjeet deflected the flick and put the ball into the goal past German goalkeeper Jean-Paul Danneberg and the score was tied at 2-2.
In the 54th minute, Marco Miltko scored from open play to give Germany a decisive lead. In this match, the Indian team missed defender Amit Rohidas, who could not play due to a one-match suspension.
