Arshad’s father-in-law Muhammad Nawaz said, “Nadeem is also very proud of his roots and despite his success, his home is still his village and he still lives with his parents and brothers.” Neeraj’s father-in-law Nawaz has 4 sons and 3 daughters. His youngest daughter Ayeshi is married to Nadeem.
Muhammad Nawaz further said, “When we decided to marry our daughter to Nadeem 6 years ago, he used to do small jobs. However, he was very passionate about his sport and used to practice javelin throwing in his fields and at home.”
Arshad won gold by setting an Olympic record
It is worth noting that Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal by setting a record in the Paris Olympics. Arshad had thrown 92.97 meters. His throw was recorded in the Olympic record book. Neeraj Chopra, who finished second in the event, won the silver medal by throwing 89.45 meters.
