Paris Olympic 2024 Antim Panghal Accreditation Cancelled: Wrestler Antim Panghal had a women’s freestyle 53kg wrestling event at the Paris Olympics 2024 on 7 August. In which he had to face defeat in the round of 16. After this, a controversy related to Antim Panghal came to the fore. Regarding which a complaint was made to the Indian Olympic Association (IOC). This complaint was related to Antim Panghal and his entire team. Which was made by the French officials. After this controversial incident, his and his entire team’s recognition of the Olympic Village was revoked and everyone was sent back to India.
What did the French authorities complain about to the IOA?
French officials had complained to the Indian Olympic Association that Anant Panghal had used his accreditation to get his sister into the Olympic Village. After investigating the matter, the IOA decided to take strict action against Anant and his team and send them back to the country.
What is the whole matter?
Anant Panghal had given his accreditation to his sister to use to enter the Olympic Village. When this came to the notice of the French authorities, they complained about the matter to the IOA.
According to sources, his sister tried to enter the Olympic Village as the last pangal, but the security officials caught her. After this, the sister was handed over to the police and the IOA was informed about it. The IOA requested the police not to detain the sister in the police station, after which she was sent back to the hotel. However, now the entire team is returning to India from Paris due to discipline violation.
According to the IOA statement- “Anant Panghal had handed over his accreditation to his sister, who was trying to enter the Games Village. After a complaint by French officials, it was decided to send the entire contingent to India.”

Ankit Panghal lost to Zeynep Yetgil of Turkey in the Round of 16 of the women’s 53kg freestyle event at the Paris Olympics 2024. Yetgil won on the basis of technical superiority. Let us tell you that she is also the bronze medalist of the Under 23 European Championships.
