Rashid Latif on Champions Trophy 2025: When will the decision on Champions Trophy 2025 come, what consensus will be reached between Pakistan and India? Now Pakistan’s veteran player Rashid Latif has given such a statement, which can become the cause of new controversy. He says that before the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) says anything further in its favor, Pakistan should consider boycotting the Champions Trophy. Rashid Latif believes that taking such a decision will send a message of sportsmanship and equality in the cricket world.
There is already tension between India and Pakistan, while this statement is adding fuel to the Champions Trophy dispute. Rashid Latif, an event man, said, “Pakistan should now think about boycotting the Champions Trophy. Before BCCI takes any decision, Pakistan should do this. Champions Trophy should not be organised. “
Pakistan is becoming a ‘scapegoat’
Rashid Latif also said that Pakistan has always been made a ‘scapegoat’. He said, “We have always been made a scapegoat, be it cricket or the Afghan war. Pakistan, Afghanistan and ICC are all the same because none of them is ready to go against the BCCI. Now they have the power to push Pakistan forward. There is an opportunity to push, we have come together and are fighting our battle. The biggest fear here is that if India boycotts the Champions Trophy, then where will we stand in such a situation.”
Pakistan had agreed to adopt the hybrid model in the Champions Trophy, but it had also put a condition of implementing the hybrid model in ICC events to be held in India for the next 3 years. Unfortunately, after that ICC has postponed many meetings, but till now the decision has not been taken.
