Pakistan One Athlete in Paralympics 2024: Paralympics 2024 is starting from 28 August, for which Pakistan has come into the limelight for a strange reason even before going to Paris. Actually, only one athlete from Pakistan will be participating in the 2024 Paralympic Games, whose name is Haider Ali. Haider Ali will be participating in the men’s javelin throw competition. Let us remind you that Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal in the Paris Olympics and now Pakistan will have the same expectations from Haider Ali.
Fifth consecutive Olympics
Haider Ali comes from Gujranwala, which is also known as the city of wrestlers, but Ali has made a name for himself in athletics. This will be the fifth consecutive time that Haider Ali will be participating in the Paralympic Games. He won the gold medal in the discus throw competition of the Tokyo Paralympics. Apart from this, he has won silver in the long jump competition of the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and bronze medal in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Unfortunately, he could not play in the London Paralympics due to injury.
Since Arshad Nadeem has returned home after breaking the Olympic record by throwing the javelin 92.97 meters in Paris, the whole of Pakistan will be hoping that Haider Ali also does something similar. Let us tell you that the Olympic record in javelin throw in the F38 category, in which Haider will participate, is 61.76 meters.
4,000 athletes from 170 countries will participate
More than 4,000 athletes from 170 countries of the world are coming to participate in the 2024 Paralympic Games to be held in Paris. But out of these 4 thousand athletes, only one name will be representing Pakistan. On the other hand, if we talk about India, a total of 84 athletes of the country will be participating in the Paralympics 2024, who will be seen vying for medals in 12 sports. Let us remind you that last time India won 19 medals including five gold.
