ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Hybrid Model: The decision on the Champions Trophy case is still pending and the meeting called by the ICC is being postponed again and again. Whether the hybrid model will be accepted or not, whether the hosting of the tournament will be snatched away from Pakistan or not, there are many questions whose answers the cricket world wants to know. Now a new report has come out, in which it has been claimed that the decision on the Champions Trophy may come on Wednesday.
According to IANS, the Pakistan Cricket Board wants the ICC to give it a written assurance that the next ICC tournaments to be held in India will be organized under the hybrid model. Only if this demand is accepted will the PCB agree to the Champions Trophy ‘hybrid model’. The report said, “PCB wants the International Cricket Council to give them written assurance for the next ICC events. The decision on the Champions Trophy matter may come on Wednesday.
UAE eyes ICC’s decision
The Emirates Cricket Board is keeping an eye on the ICC’s decision. If sources are to be believed, Dubai has almost been finalized for India’s Champions Trophy matches. Meanwhile, on Sunday, PCB Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi met Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and discussed the Champions Trophy issue. PM Sharif assured Naqvi that the government will provide full support to the PCB on the Champions Trophy issue.
Let us tell you that as per the proposed schedule, the Champions Trophy tournament will start from 19th February and will continue till 9th March. A total of 8 teams will participate in this tournament and the top-2 teams in both the groups will directly enter the semi-finals. According to the hybrid model, if India reaches the semi-finals and finals, then those matches will be played in the probable venue i.e. Dubai only.
