ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The Champions Trophy 2025 is to be played in Pakistan. However, it is not yet decided whether Team India will tour Pakistan for the tournament or not. Recently, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif had said that Team India’s visit to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy is 50% certain. But now former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has warned about security and said that Team India should not go.
Danish Kaneria clearly said that Team India should not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Talking to ‘Sports Tak’, the former Pakistani spinner said, “Look at the situation in Pakistan. I would say that the Indian team should not go to Pakistan.”
He further said, “Pakistan should think about it, then the ICC will decide and mostly it will be a hybrid model. It will be played in Dubai.”
Kaneria said, “Safety of players should be the first priority. Respect is the second priority. There are many things. I think BCCI is doing a great job. I think all the countries will accept the final decision.”
No decision has been made yet
Let us tell you that till now it has not been decided whether Team India will tour Pakistan for the Champions Trophy or not. All the media reports that have come out show that the Indian team is not in favor of touring Pakistan.
Team India did not visit Pakistan even for the Asia Cup held in 2023. The tournament was played under the hybrid model, in which all the matches of Team India were held in Sri Lanka. Now it will be interesting to see under which model the Champions Trophy is played. If the Champions Trophy is held under the hybrid model, then where will the matches of Team India be held, this is also a question.
