Vinesh Phogat was given a warm welcome at the Delhi airport. Wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik were also present during this time. Vinesh Phogat did a road show from Delhi airport to her village. During this, many Khap Panchayats of Haryana welcomed Vinesh. After reaching the village, Vinesh addressed her fans.
After reaching the village, Vinesh Phogat said that her fight for the betterment of wrestling will continue. Vinesh said, “Our fight is not over yet. This fight will continue. I pray to God that truth wins. The love I received from the people of my country, my village and my family helped me overcome this shock.”
On missing the medal in the Olympics, Vinesh Phogat said, “Missing the Olympic medal is the biggest setback of my life. I don’t know how long it will take to recover from this setback. But I want to use the courage I have got from you people in the right direction.”
Now wrestling will not be possible- Vinesh’s husband
Earlier, while talking to Haryana Tak, Vinesh Phogat’s husband Somveer Rathi said, “You are seeing what has been going on for the last one and a half to two years. The federation is not with us. No one is with us. We have seen everything, no one is standing with us. If no one is standing with the player then what can the player do?”
He further said, “We will not be able to wrestle anymore. We are broken from inside. For whom will we play the game now? We have announced our retirement from wrestling after a lot of thought. Our journey ended here. Now we will not be able to go further, it is very difficult. We thought we would bring a medal for the country. Vinesh tried a lot, but we could not bring a medal. I am very sad about this. We would like to apologize to everyone, we wanted to do it for the country, but could not do it.”
