Bhavish Aggarwal: Ola Electric is going through a bad phase at the moment. The company’s stock has fallen by about 43 percent from its high level. On the other hand, Bajaj Auto and TVS Motors are also rapidly snatching away its market share. On the other hand, the company is also continuously being accused of poor customer service. Due to this, recently there was a war of words between the company’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal and comedian Kunal Kamra. Now information has come to light that due to increasing customer complaints, show cause notice has also been sent to the company. This notice has been sent by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA).
CCPA took action on thousands of complaints of poor service
Ola Electric did wonders after its listing. Its shares were listed at Rs 76 and reached Rs 157.4. But, the decline that started after this has not stopped till date. Now Business Today, quoting sources, has claimed that taking action on thousands of complaints of poor service, CCPA (Central Consumer Protection Authority) has issued a show cause notice to Ola Electric. This step of the central government organization is a big blow to the company.
10,644 complaints have been received on National Consumer Helpline
In this notice of CCPA, it has been said that the company has violated several sections of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. This includes poor service, wrong advertising, unfair trade practices and violation of consumer rights. CCPA has given the company 15 days to respond. According to information, 10,644 complaints have been received against the company in the last one year on the National Consumer Helpline run by the Department of Consumer Affairs. In all these, the issue of poor service of Ola scooters has been raised.
Customers are facing these problems, the company is not listening
The company is also accused of selling scooters with manufacturing defects. Creating difficulty in giving refund on cancellation of booking. Covers post-service issues and complaints related to batteries and parts. Department Secretary Nidhi Khare confirmed this and said that CCPA is investigating the matter. We have full hope that the company will resolve these issues soon. Any such complaint can be made on the toll free number 1915 of the National Consumer Helpline. At present, Ola Electric has maintained silence on this issue.
